1.If you could make one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
My 6 year old brother Mackay has Down syndrome. He was born with heart and other health issues which meant my family and I spent almost 5 months in Hospital & Ronald McDonald house, Westmead Sydney. It was a scary and emotional time for our family it was a period in my life I will never forget...I even got to be in the McDonalds McHappy Day TV commercial.
2.If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I have always had a love for Arts and Crafts and my passion has given me the opportunity to be involved in several children's workshops and activities. Putting smiles on the faces of children in hospital with my homemade felt tiaras, cowboy and fireman hats makes my heart the proudest. Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference.
3.When do you feel a child or teen becomes an adult?
An interesting fact about me is: I share my 10th of the 10th birthday with my grandfather who passed away 10 years before I was born, and I was born 10 days after my great grandfather passed away.
4.What do you feel you have learned in life that will be the most useful?
One of the funniest moments for me as a child and one I will never live down, was: When I was 7 years old our choir group was performing in the "All schools spectacular". I was one of the youngest and smallest so I was proudly standing front and centre for the entire audience to see when I had a sneezing attack right in the middle of our song.
5.What do you feel is the hardest job in the world and why?
Mackay started school this year at the same school I started at 10 years ago. His kindergarten teacher said to me: “Ruby, I remember when you used to bring bread and chips (crisps) for lunch and you would make a chip sandwich.” Hehe. Ten years later and I still have chip buddies for lunch ... I guess I am pretty much just a big kid and I hope I never grow up to much.
